Manitoba Livestock Associations Loan Guarantee Program
(Feeding Livestock)
Basic Principles:

Up to $500,000.00 available per individual or corporation.

Can feed heifers, steers or dry cows.
-
Twelve month feeding contract available for heifers & steers with
possibility of three month extension (dry cows limited to five
month contract).

Heifers can also be bred for replacements on a nine month
contract (no contract extensions are allowed).

Feeder has full control of purchasing and selling.
-
Cattle can be fed on the feeder’s premises or custom fed at an
approved feedlot.

Cattle remain the property of the feeder association until sold or
paid for by the feeder and are the only security required by the
association.

Cattle must be branded with the association brand.
-
Deposit of 5% required of approved limit (maximum of
$500,000.00) prior to the initiation of the first contract.

All proceeds from sales paid directly to the association until cattle
and outstanding charges are paid in full.

Basic Principles:

Maximum limit per individual of $500,000.00

Maximum term of seven years

Funds can be advanced in up to four consecutive contracts - Four different payment dates

Bred Cows/Heifers or Cow/Calf pairs - up to Four Years of Age
-
Assurance Fund Deposit of 10% of Approved Limit for Each Contract - Held for Term of Contract

Member/CO-OP - Joint Ownership until Loan is repaid in full. - Cattle must be branded.

Option 1: SELL CALVES - Payment Annual Invoice Amount - Profits are yours to keep!

Option 2: SELL CALVES - Payment ALL PROCEEDS - Shorten Loan Term - Own herd sooner!

First Year Payment - INTEREST ONLY

Interest/Principal/Admin Fee Payment - Six payments

Three separate family members per yard site can apply for a loan
